
Sending commands using a USB connection
1. Use a Mini-B USB cable to connect a control PC or other USB device to the front panel
Config port of the SME100 (see the "Front Panel Features" section on page 11).
NOTE: PCs or USB devices connected to the SME100 using the config port
require a USB driver for communication. If a PC or device is connected to the
SME100 Config Port while DataViewer is installed, the USB driver is loaded
automatically.
2. Open DataViewer (see "Running DataViewer" on page 119).
3. On the Communication Setup window (see figure 97):

a. Select the USB tab.
b. Select the SME100 device from the USB Port drop-down menu.
c. Click OK. The Communication Setup window closes.
4. The main DataViewer window appears. Use the Commands field to enter SIS commands
and view the responses in the Responses field (see figure 95 on page 120.
NOTE: For more information on how to use DataViewer, see the help file that comes
with the program. The help file can be accessed by opening the program and pressing
the <F1> key or clicking Use help in the Help menu.
